Second Graders have read 2,000
Books! We're on our way to 2,001 and Beyond!
Second Graders had a
goal to read 2,000 books this year. They accomplished that goal this past week!!! We celebrated with a cookie cake!! Thanks to all parents for making reading a success!! Keep it up!

This week's work:
Reading:
Students will be reading "A Birthday Present for Tia" pages 354-369. There will be a written test and a computer
test on this story Friday May 9. This week's target skill is drawing conclusions. Vocabulary
words are: present, aunt, basket, collects, bank, favorite
Spelling:
Test Friday May 2. This week's words are: mixture, nation, section, future, picture, action, caution, station,
fixture, motion, nature, feature, furniture, adventure, tuition
Grammar: Students will practice
using commas.
Handwriting: Practice cursive capital letters G, S, and D.
Math: Students
will practice adding 3-digit numbers with and without regrouping.
Social Studies: Students will learn
about Native Americans.
Health: Physical Fitness
Science: Test Thursday on Chapter 6.
Students will bring home a study guide Wednesday.
